Why it's prohibited in the open category
A battery, link, GPS or propeller failure, or a gust of wind, can end in a fall onto people. The rules close that door in the open category.

We integrate the drone, permits and coordination into the live production operation, to get spectacular aerial shots without slowing the pace of the show and in compliance with regulations, safety and production timings.

The drone opens and closes the show. The cablecam lives inside it.
Drones for festivals
At a festival, a drone can't go "it alone". At LineCam® we integrate drones + permits + full coordination into the live production operation, to get spectacular aerial shots without slowing the pace of the show and in compliance with regulations, safety and production timings.
Drones for festivals with permits and real coordination
We handle the whole cycle: flight feasibility, airspace analysis, definition of perimeters and safety zones, and processing/managing authorisations when needed (sites with audiences, controlled zones, proximity to sensitive infrastructure, schedules and restrictions). We coordinate directly with production, security, the stage manager and the technical lead so the drone fits into the camera plan and doesn't interfere with the build.
Integration with the LineCam® system and the live production
The key is for the drone to be just another camera in the video flow:
Team and operations at the festival
High-impact aerial shots for the aftermovie, social media and television, with a professional operation: permits, safety and coordination, all aligned with the festival's pace and LineCam®'s camera plan.

It's a question of operational category, authorisation and liability. We explain it in detail because it directly affects the promoter.

We analyse the airspace, the venue and the audience area to know which flight is possible and in which category.
We handle the required authorisations and coordinate with production, security and the stage manager.
The drone feeds the production desk and goes to screens and streaming like any other camera.
The aerial shots are reused later for the aftermovie and the festival’s social media.

In the open category, no. European and Spanish regulations prohibit operating over gatherings of people. Flying over assemblies of people requires moving to the specific category, with authorisation, risk analysis and documented mitigations. We work under that framework when the shot justifies it, and when it doesn't, we use the cablecam, which can pass over people.
The penalty normally falls on the operator or the pilot, but the promoter may be implicated if it is considered to have promoted, allowed or booked an operation in breach of the rules. That's why we always give production the flight documentation before the event.
Licensed pilot, liability insurance, airspace analysis, definition of perimeters and safety zones, pre-flight checklist, briefing with the security team and contingency plan. If the flight requires specific authorisation, we handle it.
Yes, when the link allows it. We deliver the feed to the production for IMAG or live, with the drone integrated into the camera plan as one more position.
By coordinating routes and heights before rigging. We define flight windows —tests, cutaways, key moments and exit— and cross-check them against the cablecam line, delay towers, cranes, lasers and pyrotechnics.
Tell us the venue and the dates and we'll tell you what can be flown, with what authorisation and what's better solved with a cablecam.
